There are many kinds of wildlife you can experience in my garden. While I enjoy their presence, they can try my patience. Sometimes they act like my garden is their favorite gourmet restaurant. Here are a few of my regular visitors:

  • Bats
  • Birds (This link takes you to the sound page.)
  • Butterflies
  • Cats
  • Chipmunks
  • Deer
  • Dogs
  • Ducks
  • Insects (Lots of ‘em)
  • Ground hog (Our onsite resident "Chuckie")
  • Rabbits
  • Racoons
  • Snakes
  • Squirrels

Deer

This small clip demonstrates how cute deer can be. This past summer a doe and two fawns were frequent visitors. They're not so cute when they're defoliating my hosta or eating my tulips as fast as they pop up! More QuickTime clips are available at the Disney Web Site.

Butterflies

Butterflies are one of the true treasures of gardening. If you plant the right flowers, you can attract many different kinds of butterflies. Photo illustration by Linda Brennan. There are more clips available at the MSU 4H Garden.
